I actually use Maelstroms for most of my distorted synths I find it’s way more powerful for simple non oscillating synths. But as soon as I get into wobbles and pulsating synths, Thor is the best to use.
(I had to take out the screams to show you what I was doing with the maelstroms)
Thats all it really takes to make a “huge” sounding synth. Sometimes, if it doesn’t sound thick enough I add another synth with the spreader at about 10 o’clock, to fill it up even more but sometimes that’s just overkill. haha
